  1. I am sure that I am not the only member of this forum to have received a letter in the past few days outlining changes within Plimoth Plantation. The contents of the letter came as sad news to me. I expect that there will be many casualties of the current economical situation but it becomes more real when it affects friends, and I have come to view the team behind The Plimoth Jacket as friends, even though I have never met them.

I have been following this project, via the blog, for many months now, and at the heart of it has always been Jill. I have noticed that Jill has not posted to the blog recently, but was not aware of the significance of this.

I am very pleased that Tricia has agreed to take on the responsibility of managing the completion of the Jacket and have every confidence that she will manage the project appropriately. I am equally disappionted for Jill and the other nameless 'forced elimination' that they will not see the conclusion of this project as employees of the Plinmoth Plantation. Moreover, I am disappointed that John McDonagh did not see fit to name and acknowledge the contribution of Jill and her colleague in his letter.

To both of you, I am extremely greatful for your hard work and enthusiasm for this project. I am sorry that you have fallen victim of these difficult times and send you my best wishes for the future.

I also continue to support Tricia and the remaining members of the team, voleentary or otherwise, for the duration of the project.

    Carol-Anne
