On Friday, October 23, members of Plimoth Patuxet Museums’ Chairman’s Society gathered in Gainsborough Hall for an evening celebrating the power of philanthropy, the enduring importance of the Museum’s mission, and the history that continues to connect us.

The evening opened with Board Vice Chair Gale Fitzgerald, who introduced guest speaker State Senator Dylan Fernandes. Senator Fernandes spoke about the importance of tourism and philanthropy in supporting the Commonwealth’s cultural institutions and shared news of a gift from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to the Museum. Deputy Director of Development & Marketing Michelle Soverino and Executive Director Tom Begley followed with remarks reflecting on the opportunities ahead and the vital role of community support in carrying the Museum’s mission forward.

Guests enjoyed a dinner featuring flavors inspired by the past while sharing an evening of conversation and connection. The gathering offered a fitting moment to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary and the Revolutionary Ideas that took root here, while looking ahead to another important milestone: Plimoth Patuxet Museums’ 80th anniversary in 2027.

We are grateful to our Chairman’s Society members for their generosity and commitment to bringing people closer to history.
