WoodenBoat Show 2018
We’re thrilled to be welcoming thousands of visitors to Mayflower II this weekend during the 27th annual WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport Museum, where our national treasure is receiving a major re-fit to help her sail into the future!
The festival, which is hosted in partnership with WoodenBoat Publications to celebrates the design and craftsmanship of wooden craft, offers something for all wooden boat enthusiasts and marine history buffs. Wooden boats of every type—large and small, old and new, power, sail, oar and paddle—are on display, including cruising yachts, launches, runabouts, fishing boats, performance powerboats, daysailers, dinghies, rowboats, canoes, performance shells, multi-hulls and racing boats … and of course, Plimoth Plantation’s Mayflower II.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll be taking notes and photos to share with you here!
For those on Instagram, we’ve also launched a brand new account dedicated to the ship! In addition to @plimothplantation, you can now follow the progress of the restoration, learn more about the ship’s history, meet the experts at Plimoth Plantation and Mystic Seaport who are dedicated to this project, and more. Follow @officialmayflowertwo for the inside scoop!
Hearts of Mayflower
Thank you so much for your keen interest in our “Hearts of Mayflower!” These truly one-of-a-kind keepsakes are made from planking reclaimed from the original 1957 construction. Our dedicated volunteers are carving their hearts out (pun intended) but the demand is great so we appreciate your patience. The Plimoth Plantation museum shops currently have a very limited stock on hand, and we also have just a handful for those visiting the WoodenBoat Show at Mystic Seaport this weekend (June 22-24). The hearts are $25 and net proceeds support the ship’s restoration.
To indicate your interest in a heart, please email Tami Alcombright at firstname.lastname@example.org. She will contact you to fulfill your requests in the order they are received.
