Blockade Runners

Presented by the Westport Historical Society

From August 15th to August 21st, Mayflower II's Fuller Shallop and its crew, including Mayflower II Captain Whit Perry, will sail the Southcoast and Islands as part of Revolution250 to commemorate Captain Paul Cuffe's blockade running to supply isolated Nantucket. The William Underwood will accompany the Shallop, and the topsail schooner Lynx will be docked with the Shallop in Nantucket.

Port Stops and Public Hours Include:

  • Westport Point - Saturday, August, 15 and Sunday, August 16, 11 am - 3 pm
  • Padanaram Harbor - Monday, August 17, 10 am - 2 pm
  • Cuttyhunk Island - Tuesday, August 18, 10 am - 8 pm, and Wednesday August 19, 10 am - 12 pm
  • Nantucket - Friday, August 21, Time TBD

In every port, visitors will be able to inspect the Shallop and chat with her Captain and crew. In Westport, Padanaram, Cuttyhunk, and Nantucket, visitors can view a new film featuring Captain Cuffee. There will be special activities in each port arranged by local groups.
