Bob Stone Event: Virtual Reality Mayflower Presentation and Experience

Experience Mayflower as you never have before- through virtual reality! In 2020 Professor Robert Stone of the University of Birmingham, led a team to develop a virtual reality program for the international commemoration of the 400th anniversary of Mayflower's transatlantic voyage in 1620. The project included a virtual reconstruction of the Mayflower, a VR experience of shipboard life during her 1620 voyage, and educational components mediated by historic avatars based on some of the Mayflower's passengers. Join Professor Stone and a few of his team members for a short presentation about the project and the process of creating a VR version of Mayflower and Barbican. After, don a virtual reality headset and explore Mayflower and her surroundings for yourself.
