Wampanoag Wardrobe Work Session | 10:00 am - 1:00 pm; 2:00 - 4:00 pm

Join the Historic Patuxet Homesite Team's Wardrobe Specialist Kuwah Deetz (Mashpee & Assonet Wampanoag) in the Craft Center as she prepares winter clothing for the Museum’s Indigenous interpreters. Kuwah will share insight into the function, meaning, and specificity of historical Wampanoag clothing and adornment. Visitors are invited to observe this work and learn more about how clothing is made and used within Wampanoag lifeways.
Artist Highlight - Shaking Reeds Designs | 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Meet Shaking Reed’s Designs of the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation, contributing artist to Threads of Identity: Wampanoag Clothing Across Generations. Specially commissioned to create post-contact Wampanoag regalia, reflecting the incorporation of European trade materials, Shaking Reed’s will share her artistic style, inspiration, and creative practice with visitors.
