Media Alert: Mayflower II to Depart for Mystic Seaport Museum for Routine Maintenance
Historic ship will begin journey on Friday, December 5
Plymouth, Massachusetts (December 4, 2025) – Plimoth Patuxet Museums announces that Mayflower II, the Museum’s full-scale reproduction of the tall ship that brought the Pilgrims across the Atlantic Ocean in 1620, is scheduled to depart Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Friday, December 5, at approximately 10:30 am, for routine maintenance work at Mystic Seaport Museum’s Henry B. duPont Preservation Shipyard.
Accompanied by Plimoth Patuxet’s Maritime Preservation and Operations team, the national treasure will be towed by Stasinos Marine for the journey. Upon arrival at Mystic Seaport Museum, Mayflower II will be hauled out of the water for regular and routine maintenance, i.e., painting and caulking.
This ship is expected to enter the east end of the Cape Cod Canal on Friday, December 5, at approximately 1-1:30 pm.
