MEDIA ALERT: Plimoth Patuxet Announces Mayflower II’s Return to her Home Berth

The celebrated ship will return to Plymouth, Massachusetts, after participating in Sail Boston

Plymouth, Massachusetts (July 15, 2026) – Plimoth Patuxet Museums announced today that Mayflower II is scheduled to begin her return journey from Boston, Massachusetts, where she participated in Sail Boston as part of the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, to her home berth in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Thursday, July 16.

"The response to Mayflower II's visit to Boston exceeded every expectation we had," said Tom Begley, Executive Director. "To watch thousands of people line the waterfront as she entered Boston Harbor during the Parade of Sail was an unforgettable moment. The excitement continued throughout the week as visitors formed long lines to step aboard and experience our remarkable ship firsthand.”

Accompanied by Plimoth Patuxet’s Maritime Preservation and Operations team, the 106-foot ship will be towed by Stasinos Marine, based out of Fall River, Massachusetts, during Thursday’s transit. The ship’s travel schedule is entirely dependent on various factors, such as weather conditions, and is, therefore, subject to change without notice.

Plimoth Patuxet expects to open Mayflower II to the public on Saturday, July 18, at 9:00 am. For more information, visit plimoth.org.
