Plymouth, Massachusetts (January 15, 2026) – Plimoth Patuxet Museums is pleased to announce that a panel of industry experts and editors for the USA TODAY 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards has once again nominated the acclaimed living history museum for Best Open Air Museum. Selected alongside other noteworthy institutions nationwide, the final winner will be determined by public vote. Plimoth Patuxet earned the top honor in both 2024 and 2025, underscoring its continued national recognition and strong support from visitors.
The Museum offers an engaging, immersive outdoor learning experience through its living history exhibits, including the Historic Patuxet Homesite, 17th-Century English Village, Mayflower II, and Plimoth Grist Mill.
The 2026 season promises to be a landmark year for Plimoth Patuxet. Opening on Saturday, March 14, Plimoth Patuxet will begin its commemoration of America 250 with emphasis on its interpretive framework, Revolutionary Ideas Started Here. This initiative explores how pivotal moments and ideas that emerged along the historic shores of Massachusetts helped shape the path to the American Revolution.
