Three Years of Magic, the 2025 Magical Matinee
An afternoon of fun and festive delight was made possible through generous support from The Foundation for Creative Achievement.

On Sunday, December 14, Plimoth Cinema was transformed into Whoville as families and friends gathered from 2–4 pm for A Magical Matinee – How the Grinch Stole Christmas Pajama Party & Screening. The afternoon marked a joyful celebration of the classic film’s 25th Anniversary and created holiday magic for the young and young at heart.
Families arrived to the Museum bundled in their favorite pajamas, many carrying well-loved blankets and stuffed animals. The atmosphere was instantly playful as children were greeted by the mischievous Grinch lurking around the Museum’s Christmas tree leading the way to the theater. Once past the Grinch, children had the opportunity to write letters to Santa and enjoy delicious hot cocoa and seasonal treats before settling in for the holiday film.

More than just a movie screening, A Magical Matinee was a celebration of community, family, and the simple joy of coming together during the holiday season. The event was made possible through the generous support of The Foundation for Creative Achievement, whose commitment helped bring this memorable afternoon to life.
As the credits rolled and the event came to a close, the Grinch, whose heart had grown three sizes that day, handed out candy cane treats to every attendee. A Magical Matinee offered an afternoon of wonder and whimsy, creating lasting holiday memories for all who attended.
