Second Annual Spinning and Weaving Week
Guests will enjoy an expanded roster of fiber arts demonstrations across the Museums' Main Campus.

Threaded Through History
Join Plimoth Patuxet Museums for its second annual Spinning and Weaving Week, October 6 – 10, 10 am – 3 pm. Daily enhancements, included with admission to Plimoth Patuxet, will expand upon the Museum’s rich exploration of the way people of the 17th century engaged with textiles, textile production, fiber arts and more.

At The Historic Patuxet Homesite
Guests visiting the Historic Patuxet Homesite are encouraged to engage in thoughtful conversations and learn about Wampanoag fiber arts such as weaving nets, belts, baskets, bags, and mats from knowledge keepers who discuss the lifeways and heritage of culture that continues to thrive today.

At The Craft Center
Demonstrations of fiber arts at the Museum’s Craft Center, including combing, spinning, knitting, and weaving, will create rich learning opportunities for guests of all ages. Children’s activities, including simple weaving, coloring, and learning a basic running stitch will create hands-on experiences to nurture threads of knowledge.

In The 17th-Century English Village
Guests can converse with residents of Plymouth Colony and learn what clothing they chose to bring with them and how they maintained their valuable and limited wardrobe through tasks like mending, brushing, and ironing.
