A Time for Every Purpose Under Heaven

Baptism, Marriage and Death –three of The Light Here Kindled films funded by the Lilly Endowment’s Religion and Cultural Institutions Initiative will debut on April 30th. The trio of short docudramas follow the spiritual transformation of the Hopkins family from the Anglican funeral of Stephen Hopkins's first wife, Mary, in May 1613, through the Reformed Christian baptism of his granddaughter, Elizabeth Snow, around 1641. The films were shot on location at Plimoth Patuxet.

Kate LaPrad Deputy Director for Education & Strategic Partnerships and Richard Pickering Deputy Executive Director & Senior Historian will introduce the films and discuss the challenges of bringing Elizabethan religious rituals to life.
