Featuring hands-on workshops, family-friendly activities, and festive holiday events, the Museum’s seasonal offerings provide the community with meaningful opportunities to connect and create this holiday season.

Winter Fine Arts & Craft Fair

December 6 & 7, 10 am - 4 pm each day

From the Nation’s celebrated museum that brings the 17th century to life through creative expression and traditional lifeways, comes the Winter Fine Arts & Craft Fair at Plimoth Patuxet!

Lunch & Learn: The First New England Christmas—It’s Not What You Think

December 11, 12 - 1 pm

What Christmas traditions did Plymouth Colonists bring with them from England? Join Director of Colonial Interpretation & Training Malka Benjamin to explore the diversity of Christmas traditions that were carried to Plymouth Colony.

Pinecone Christmas Tree Making

December 13, 10 am - 12 pm

Get into the holiday spirit with this fun and festive hands-on workshop. In this class, guests will create their very own charming pinecone Christmas tree—complete with seasonal decorations, festive embellishments, and personality. Our instructor will guide you step-by-step as you assemble your mini tree, perfect for displaying at home or gifting to someone special. Enjoy a relaxed, creative atmosphere, holiday music, and plenty of cheer. You’ll leave with a finished pinecone Christmas tree and the joy of having made something truly unique for the season!

A Magical Matinee - How the Grinch Stole Christmas Pajama Party & Screening

December 14, 2 - 4 pm

Calling all young and young at heart for a special holiday program and pajama party, a Magical Matinee at Plimoth Cinema. In celebration of its 25th Anniversary, enjoy a special screening of the 2000 live-action Christmas classic, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, in your favorite jammies - bringing your favorite blanket to get cozy is encouraged. Hot chocolate, seasonal treats, and enchanting guests will fill this festive afternoon with delight. This program is made possible thanks to the support of The Foundation for Creative Achievement.

A Merry Afternoon at Plimoth Patuxet Museums

December 18, 3 - 4 pm

Bring your little one for a cozy, holiday-themed afternoon filled with old-fashioned fun. Gather ‘round our crackling fire as we share a delightful Christmas tale from the glittering English court. Then, let your child’s creativity shine as they decorate their very own gingerbread cookie—a sweet tradition that dates all the way back to Queen Elizabeth’s time.
