Celebrate America 250

The conversations that took place here, in Plymouth, Massachusetts, carved a path to 1776 with the founding idea of a civil body politic. You can’t understand what happened 250 years ago without understanding what happened here first.

Explore Our Historic Sites

Historic Patuxet Homesite

Located on the Eel River, the Historic Patuxet Homesite is where guests learn about the Native peoples who have lived here for over 12,000 years. We invite you to learn about the Indigenous heritage of the Northeast from contemporary interpreters who discuss the 17th-century lifeways of a culture that continues to thrive today.

Plimoth Grist Mill

At our reproduction of the Plymouth Colonists’ original 1636 grain mill on Town Brook, take a fascinating look at the mill’s history and workings, from the 200-year-old millstones grinding corn to the ecology of the brook that has powered mills throughout the centuries.

The 17th-Century English Village

The rustic setting of the Village helps guests understand the perseverance required of the Pilgrims. While interacting with costumed Historical Performers, guests can meet the colony's leaders, ask villagers about practicing their faith in a new land, or lend a hand in the garden, learn a dance, sing a song, help with chores, or serve in a militia drill.

Mayflower II

Climb aboard and experience what the 1620 crossing was like for the Pilgrims. Modern-day guides are on hand to enrich your experience, sharing stories about 1620, and the history of Mayflower.
